“The Stars of Hollywood Forever: 1901-2006" represents the first comprehensive compilation of early contributors to the growth and development of Los Angeles; film industry personalities; musicians and; a handful of gangsters to be interred at this legendary cemetery. The book and free insert includes over 1,000 notables who are documented in this groundbreaking work of research.
Tony Luke Scott worked for a number of years going over every inch of the cemetery, looking at miles of microfilm, searching through library reference materials, reading numerous biographies and spending untold hours going through cemetery records to compile this book. In addition, he found locations of several people whose graves are not marked and even discovered a few people buried there whose location records are no where to be found and, others who were once at Hollywood Forever, but later moved to other locations.
This book lists names, birth/death dates & locations, location of grave, biographical info, award nominations & wins and a few scandals.
Included are a number of the Hollywood's biggest names: Rudolph Valentino, Agnes Ayres, Renee Adoree, Douglas Fairbanks, Dorothy Phillips, Allen Holubar, Constance Talmadge, Norma Talmadge, Marion Davies, Nelson Eddy, Paul Muni, Mel Blanc, Eleanor Powell, Arthur Lake, Franz Waxman, Hugo Risenfeld, Clifton Webb, Virginia Rappe, Cecil B. DeMille, Harry Cohn, Reaves Eason, Harold Rosson, Cass Daley, Barbara La Marr and hundreds more.
Also included are early residents and founders of Los Angeles - Harvey Wilcox, Daeida Wilcox Beveridge, Albert Hubbard, Harrison Otis, David Horsley, Highland Price, Harry Chandler, Robert Watchorn and many more.
